Balsam Fir Christmas Trees

If you had only a single word to characterize the Balsam Fir, many people would select the word “Fragrance”. As with all members of the Fir tree family, the Balsam Fir is a very fragrant tree. But the actual aroma of this tree is what makes it unique. If you close your eyes and imagine what a Christmas tree smells like, this is probably the tree your are thinking of.

In addition to what we call the “Smell of Christmas”, the Balsam Fir is a very attractive tree. With a slightly tapered shape, the tree is full and has strong branches. The needles are medium length, and very soft. This makes the Balsam Fir a very easy tree to decorate!

The Balsam Fir offers very good needle retention and makes a great Christmas tree. While the Balsam Fir won’t last quiet as long as a Fraser or Canaan Fir, it will stay fresh for the entire month of December with a little care, and plenty of water.
